Who writes our guides

Articles are written and updated by the Hoverboards Guide editors, a small editorial team. We don’t use invented reviewer personas, and we don’t claim hands-on testing we haven’t done. Our guides are research-based by default; our editorial policy explains exactly how we work.

How we research

  • Manufacturer specifications: wheel size, rider weight limit, advertised speed and range, battery and charger details.
  • Safety certification and recalls: we check for UL 2272 certification and search CPSC recall notices.
  • Owner feedback: we read owner reviews across retailers and rider forums and look for patterns, not one-off stories.
  • Independent tests: where trusted publications have measured speed or range, we cite them.

Advertised speed and range are manufacturer claims. Real-world results depend on rider weight, terrain, temperature and tire pressure, and are usually lower. We say so in our guides.
